Rosettes of very narrow silky-hairy leaves with their margins rolled upwards. Flowerheads usually stalkless. Bracts narrow, tipped with hairs. Rays white, 15 to 35, 1-1.5cm long. Montana to Utah and Colorado, at moderate to high elevations. This is another excellent species for the alpine house.
