Botanical Description

A loose cluster of leafy stems up to 20cm long, much branched from the base, with white down. Flowerheads 1 to 3 to a stem, rays white or lilac, 1cm long. Wyoming to Utah and Colorado, on dry plains. Although it does not form compact rosettes, this is an attractive plant with its almost white leaves, but it is short-lived.
