Flowering stems 30-60cm tall. Leaves 15-30cm long, usually folded and somewhat rough on the margins. Flowers white, to 8mm or more in diameter, each tepal with a well defined gland, in simple racemes. British Columbia to Saskatchewan, south to California and Colorado, mainly in moist grassy habitats to scrub and montane coniferous forest below 2500m.
