Botanical Description

Tufted clump-forming with erect stems 15-30cm tall. Leaves ovate to kidney-shaped in outline, 3-10cm long, palmately divided into three to seven lance-oblong lobes. Flowers 1.6-3cm wide, deep yellow all or lower three petals only with a basal pattern of short, radiating purple-brown veins, spring to summer. Oregon and California, in open woods on dryish slopes at 300-2000m.
