Botanical Description

Epimedium planipetalum). Flowering stems usually 15-30cm high, sometimes more. Leaves evergreen, composed of up to nine or more broadly ovate leaflets. Each leaflet is 4-6cm long, cordate, three-lobed, deep lustrous green above, glaucescent beneath, semi-leathery, with thickened, crisped margins. Flowers white or blue-mauve tinted, 6-8mm long, usually ten to twenty-five but sometimes to twice this, spring. Oregon to California, in forest especially redwood up to 610m.
