Botanical Description

Flowering stems generally 20-30cm high but sometimes more. Leaves deciduous, with up to nine or more ovate leaflets 2-6cm long, each one usually three-lobed and cordate, glabrous, bright green above, glaucescent beneath, membranaceous. Flowers white, 1-1.4cm long, usually six to thirty, but sometimes to forty-five, spring. Washington State to California in the deep shade of redwood and Douglas-fir forest, up to 1380m.
