Stems 20-50cm tall. Flowers about 2.5cm wide, star-shaped, white or pale blue, many in compact umbels. Vancouver Island to Idaho and California in moist or more rarely dry habitats. T.h. var. greenei syn. T. lilacina has hyaline vesicles in the perianth tube. California only.
