Botanical Description

Stems 20-40cm tall. Leaves broadly ovate, 7-17cm long, lightly mottled, sessile. Flowers stemless, the petals 5-11cm long, deep red-bronze to maroon and greenish, musk scented, late spring. South-eastern U.S.A. Much confused in cultivation with T. sessile, T,c, forma luteum has yellow, spicy scented flowers.
