Botanical Description

Packera cana). Tufted, with erect stems 10-20cm or more tall from a branching rootstock. Basal leaves white-downy, rounded to elliptic, rarely toothed, l-4cm long, with stalks about as long or shorter; stem leaves reducing in size upwards. Flowerheads 1.6-2.7cm across, yellow, in flat-topped clusters, summer. British Columbia to California and the Rocky Mountains, in dry rocky places and conifer forest up to 3550m.
