Botanical Description

Rhizomes woody, creeping, up to 1cm thick, loosely dark brown scaly at first, then naked and white waxy-powdery. Leaf blades up to 5cm long on somewhat shorter stalks, composed of five to twenty-nine linear to narrowly oblong, very leathery pinnae with sori crowded along the central veins. British Columbia to California, in coastal scrub and forest up to 450m, on cliffs, mossy logs and trees.
