Botanical Description

Stems 60-120cm tall under ideal conditions. Cauline leaves narrowly lanceolate to lance-oblong. Flowers 1.5-2cm long, rose magenta. Arizona and Sonora at 525-1750m in mountain canyons and well-drained slopes. Spring. A plant of the warm Sonoran desert, best cultivated in warm climates. Strikingly beautiful but too large and tender for the rock garden.
