Botanical Description

Tufted to clump-forming from a woody, scaly rhizome. Leaves 15-40cm tall with purplish-brown stalks, the blades up to 4cm wide, bipinnate, composed of many linear grey-green pinnules. Oregon to California in montane coniferous forest, at 900-2450m. Seldom grown, but plants from upper altitudinal limit should be hardy.
