Botanical Description

to about 30cm tall with scabrous black-purple stalks. Lower part of leaf blades bipinnate, the uppers pinnate, composed of lanceolate to linear pinnules. Eastern and central North America, in often exposed limestone crevices and ledges including cliffs. Will grow on the rock garden in sheltered, fairly sunny ledges.
