Botanical Description

Cacaliopsis nardosmia). Tufted to small clump-forming from rhizomes. Stem more or less leafless, 30-60cm tall. Basal leaves long-stalked, almost orbicular, deeply lobed and toothed, 10-20cm across. Flowerheads to 2.5cm long, yellow, honey-scented, in small clusters, summer. California to Washington State, in meadows and open woods in mountains below 2000m. Very different from the other species in the genus, hence the syn. Cacaliopsis.
