ex Arn. (syn. Caiophora lateritia). Very closely related to L. acaulis but 10-25cm tall with petioles up to 9cm, much longer in relation to the leaf blades, the latter sometimes not trifoliate. Flowers 2.8-3.2cm in diameter, orange or greenish-white, the petals lacking the basal claw, late summer to autumn in the wild. Chile and Argentina, from the central cordilleras to northern Andean Patagonia at 1900-3000m. [Pl.256].
