Leptosiphon bicolor). Rather stiffly erect, with or without a few basal branches, 15-30cm high. Leaves 5-20mm long, divided into five to eleven linear, hispid and ciliate lobes. Flowers in leafy-bracted heads up to 8mm wide, rose to white with a yellow eye. In the coloured forms the eye is surrounded by a narrow white zone. California, Oregon and Nevada in dry open places mainly below 2600m, though very small plants are found up to 3200m. (Sometimes designated L.c. var. neglectus).
