Botanical Description

Leaves large, broad, very succulent, green often suffused with purple, 4-8cm long by 2.5-5cm wide. Inflorescence a compact panicle of up to four or more flowers on 10-20cm tall stems. Flowers peach pink to soft yellow, 4.5-5cm across, summer. Washington State in the Wenatchee Mountains and British Columbia in Manning Park in pine forest in very acid mull over granite rocks at 600-2135m. There is a dwarf form, deep rose in colour, selected as L. tweedyi 'Rosea' and a pure white selection with very pale green leaves.
