Botanical Description

Plant very small, up to 5cm in total height. Leaves mid-green, spathulate or obovate, distinctly concave, 2.5-8.5cm long by 3-11mm wide, in loose rosettes. Inflorescence of three to eleven flowers in procumbent panicles. Flowers deep pink with darker veins, 2cm wide, summer. California only in Medocino County near Bald Mountain at 1920m. on south facing dryish, gravelly soils in open pine and fir forest.
