Botanical Description

Basal rhizomes elongate with stems 30-60cm tall. Leaves rounded, cordate, 3-7cm across, shallowly lobed, the crenate teeth having aristate tips, hairy on both

surfaces. Leaf stalks rushy brown hairy. Flowers with white pink-tinted petals, in a narrow compact panicle on a brown hairy stem, summer. California, in hills forests of redwood and pine, not above 350m.
