Five species of small perennials from southern South America. They are allied to Caltha but have dioecious flowers with mainly twelve to sixteen very narrow petals and variously lobed leaves.
Essentially plants for the botanically minded gardener, being interesting but not beautiful or
showy. Apparently untried in cultivation, probably needing a moistish soil and a cool but not shaded site. Propagation by seed or division.
