Botanical Description

Leaves variably mottled. Flowers one to six, white with a small yellow throat and in some plants a rusty red ring. Tepal bases with four saccate appendages. Stigmas three lobed, divisions thin and recurved. Anthers bright yellow on very characteristic flattened filaments. Vancouver Island south to Washington and Oregon, in moist woods and open prairies. E.o. forma leucandrum from Jackson County, Oregon has white anthers. Easily grown.
