Leaves oblong-ovate, usually cordate, 2.5-18cm long, on long petioles, densely hairy beneath, greener above, forming mat-like clumps on prostrate branching stems from a woody rootstock. Flowers 5-6mm long, creamy white to yellow in heads on a branching inflorescence 2-4cm high. Dry rocky slopes and cliffs, Idaho, Washington and California.
E corymbosum Benth. Shrub 30-90cm tall with white, downy branches. Leaves lanceolate to elliptic or rounded, 2-3cm long, glabrous above, densely white downy beneath. Flowers in broad umbels, white tinged red or green to whitish-yellow, summer to early autumn. Wyoming and Colorado.
