Botanical Description

Corm tunic strongly reticulate. Leaves up to 1.5mm broad, dark green often appearing in late autumn yet sometimes shorter than the flower tube at flowering time. Flowers 6-12cm in height, pale blue with darker blue veins, late winter to spring. South-western Turkey, in screes up to 2700m. Though first described only in 1974 has rapidly become very popular. Cultivation not difficult in frame or alpine house.
