Botanical Description

Corm tunic parallel fibres. Leaves few, up to 3.5mm in width, appearing long after the flowers. Flowers about 8cm tall, deep purple with white throat, segments sharply pointed, autumn. U.S.S.R., Caucasus, in alpine meadows up to 2300m. Very rare in wild and in cultivation. Requires a well drained but moisture retentive compost.
