with stems 2-8cm tall. Basal leaves rosetted, spathulate, simple, stalked; stem leaves similar bu t smaller. Flowers to 5mm wide, white, in two to five-flowered racemes. Arctic and subarctic Europe in meadows and moist stony places usually over acidic rocks. C.b. subsp. alpina has stalkless stem leaves and three to eight-flowered racemes. Alps and Pyrenees.
