This short-lived perennial or monocarpic species is very much like a neat and compact Canterbury bell in shades of blue-purple and white. Leaves rosetted, the basal ones narrowly lanceolate, the stem ones linear, hispidly hairy. Flowers up to 3cm long, narrowly urn-shaped, horizontal to semi-erect in a narrowly pyramidal panicle. Spain and France, in the Pyrenees, Corbieres and Cevennes, among limestone rocks.
