A loosely tufted species from a creeping, woody rhizome. Stems ascending or erect to 15cm in length, sometimes branched. Basal leaves in rosettes, rounded to ovate, faintly crenate to entire, long-stalked. Stem leaves lanceolate to linear. Flowers l-2cm long, broadly funnel-shaped with spreading triangular lobes, blue. Central and southern Spain and Portugal, from the stony slopes of the higher mountains, to 3000m.
