Botanical Description

Trachelium tubulosum, Tracheliopsis tubulosa, Diosphaera tubulosa). Tufted, with many more or less erect, wavy stems, 10-25cm in length. Leaves lanceolate to obovate 1.5-3cm long, greyish-green, the lower ones withered at flowering time. Flowers narrowly funnel-shaped, white to cream, to 8mm long including the short erect lobes, about six to fifteen in corymbs, late summer. Western Syria and Turkey, amongst rocks at 1000-1300m. Sometimes behaves as a biennial or a monocarp.
