Botanical Description

Height 20-50cm. Basal leaf broad and long. Stem leaves linear. Stem slender and branched, without bulbils. Flowers usually two, broadly carnpanulate, erect pale to deep pink. Petals conspicuously bearded with long yellow hairs in a broad band centrally. Glands circular, slightly depressed, naked, but surrounded with a ring of long hairs. Cahfornia, in mountains around Los Angeles, on dry rocky slopes. This species is allied to C. weedii and has rarely been in cultivation.
