Botanical Description

Height 30-50cm. Stem erect, unbranched, flowers one to four, lemon-yellow with a dark red blotch at the base of each sepal and a band on each petal above the gland. There is a beard of long hairs above each gland which is depressed, small and circular, densely hairy and surrounded by a broad, fringed membrane. San Bernardino Mountains, on dry slopes. Allied to C. nuttallii but larger and more hairy.
