Botanical Description

tight green cushions to 10cm high and 3m across, the dense, internal network of branches clothed in the old dead foliage. Leaves l-5mm long and broad, elliptical to orbicular and blunt, usually deeply divided into three rounded lobes at the tip and whiskery towards the centre; petioles to 5mm long and strongly winged. Flowers two to nine, yellow, in sessile umbels surrounded by an involucre of short, narrow pointed, ciliate bracts. Chile and Argentina in the central cordilleras to the Andes of mid-Patagonia at 1750-3600m.
