Botanical Description

Leaves flat, not twisted, narrowly oblanceolate. Flowers small.

solitary or in pairs, upright, rather funnel-shaped, and tucked down in the foliage, having oblanceolate outer tepals 1.5-2cm long, the inner three narrower, usually rich yellow, with prominent scattered red-brown spots on the two inner-uppers, often also on the third, lowest, inner tepal but sometimes without. Tierra del Fuego, Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia from sea level to about 500m in sandy and gravelly soils.
