Flowering stems 40-90cm in height. Leaves up to 2.5cm at the base, arching, 20-60cm long. Flowers to 2cm or more across, the tepals whitish-yellow with greenish-yellow glands. California, coast ranges on grassy or scrub covered slopes, chaparral and mixed evergreen forest below 1080m. Z.f. var. minor is rarely more than 20-30cm tall with few-flowered corymbose racemes. Moist coastal grassland.
