About 10-25cm in height. Leaves grassy, few, mainly towards the base of the stem. Flowers six-tepalled, about 2cm in diameter, blue on the outside and white, shading to blue at the edges and tips of the tepals on the inside, spring. Chile, at low altitudes near the coast, often in sand dunes. The overall effect of a plant in bloom suggests a Chionodoxa to a remarkable degree.
