Botanical Description

Forming domes 3-5cm high. Leaves glaucous, ovate, pointed, 2-3.5mm long, leathery textured; those terminating fertile shoots up to 4.5mm long forming a sort of cup in which the flower nestles. Flowers 8-9mm across, white ("ruddy coloured" in Flora Fatagonica). Central and southern Patagonia, at sea level to 700m. One field note records it as growing on the edge of swamps and marshes.
