Flowering stems up to 60cm tall. Basal leaves linear-lanceolate, tapered to both ends, long-stalked; stem leaves sessile or short-stalked, shorter, lanceolate to ovate. Flowerheads 7-10cm across, yellow, usually solitary, summer. Washington State to Cahfornia, on open grassy slopes, usually below 1600m.
