Botanical Description

with slender shortly creeping rhizomes, 10-25cm tall. Leaves many, oblong-lanceolate to linear in outline, pinnate-pinnatifid, toothed, bright green, herbaceous, glabrous. Quebec to South Dakota and British Columbia south to California and New Mexico, in dry rocky habitats including subalpine forest and pine-juniper woodland.
