Botanical Description

Loosely mat-forming to 20cm across. Leaves cuneate, with three to five small blunt lobes, densely white-felted, arranged in rosettes up to 1.5cm across but mostly less. Flowerheads sessile or almost so, 1.2-1.8cm in diameter, the dark brown disk surrounded by eight to ten short, elliptic pink or white ray florets, mid to late summer. Pakistan to central Nepal, in open stony habitats at 3900-5400m. [Pl.542]
