Botanical Description

1525cm high in mature foliage. Leaves heart-shaped, wavy-toothed, abruptly slender pointed, 5-14cm long, thickish textured. Flowers 2.5-4cm wide, pale purple, the petals rounded to shallowly notched, the lowest petal darker, purple-veined, the spur globose, spring, before or with the young leaves. Japan, in mountain habitats.
