Botanical Description

Similar to V. canadensis, but stems after flowering branching and elongating to 60cm or more. Leaves ovate-cordate, usually long-pointed, crenate, 3-7cm long. Flowers on stems 15-30cm high, cream with short brown-purple lines in the centre, up to 2cm across, late spring to summer. Southern Ontario to Wisconsin, New York State, Georgia and Arkansas, in grassland and woods mainly on limestone.
