Glandularia tenera). Loosely mat-forming with rooting, decumbent stems to 30cm or more long. Leaves ovate in outline and trifid-pinnatifid, 2-4cm long, shortly white-hairy. Flowers about 1cm across, rose-purple, in dense corymbose spikes, summer to autumn. Argentina to Brazil. V.t. 'Albiflora' has white flowers and those of 'Maonettii' syn. 'Mahonettii' are of normal colour, but each petal-lobe has a pure white margin. V. tenera is as hardy as V. peruviana and 'Maonettii' (V. alpina of gardens) is considered marginally hardier.
