Tufted glabrous perennial 10-20cm in height. Leaves mainly basal, oblong in outline, 4-8cm long, pinnatisect into thirteen to fifteen overlapping, rounded lobes. Stem leaves few, smaller. Flowers 4mm long, narrowly bell-shaped, pink, in compact terminal heads, summer. Chile (Araucania only) and adjacent Argentina in rock crevices and around boulders at and above the tree line at 1200-1700m.
