Authors:
Shrub 60cm to 2m or more tall, of variable habit from sprawling to erect, with hairy stems. Leaves obovate to oblanceolate, 3-22mm long, occasionally with revolute margins. Flowers white to pink, hermaphrodite or female, the latter 1-1.5mm long, the former up to 3mm, in bracted panicles up to 20cm long by 7cm wide. Colombia to Peru, at 2500-4500m.
