Oaksiella sessilifolia). Colony-forming, with stems 20-40cm tall having a few branches above. Leaves narrowly oblong to oval, sessile, 3.5-7.5cm long, pale to glaucous beneath, the margins roughened. Flowers 2-3cm long, pale to straw or greenish-yellow, the narrow tepals shortly and fairly blunt-pointed. Late spring to early summer. Quebec to North Dakota, south to Georgia, Alabama and Oklahoma, in woods and scrub, usually in mountains in the south of its range.
