Allied to T. polyphyllum, but with stems 50-60cm long, foliage composed of seven to nine lanceolate leaflets and flowers with narrower petals and a longer, straighter, slender spur. Central cordillera, mainly Chile but just into Argentina, in the foothills at 1200-2200m. Less hardy and attractive than T. polyphyllum. T.e. subsp. gracile is more slender and has smaller leaves. Chile only, also at alpine elevations. T. myriophyllum is closely related to T. leptophyllum, but has pedicels 15-20cm long (less than 2cm in leptophyllum) and incised-toothed to almost pinnate linear leaflets. Central cordilleras at high alpine levels, rare.
