Variable in habit, from procumbent to erect and up to 1m. high, becoming rather straggly with age. Leaves usually ovate, 7-10mm long, often bright red when young. Flowers about 5mm long, pink or white, in dense recurved spikes to 2cm long, summer. Tasmania, in open mountain forests. Fruits globular, 1-1.2cm across, blue-black.
