The habit of this species is similar to that of T. incana and T. florifer. Leafy stems up to 15cm long, horizontal or angling upwards. Leaves 2cm long, spathulate. Flowersheads up to 3. Rays 12 to 30, 1cm long. Taxas to Utah in sandy places.
