Botanical Description

Sprawling to loosely mat-forming, with flowering stems 5-12cm high. Leaves ovate, 1-1.2cm long. Flowers 7-9mm long, purple, in head-like spikes. Balearic Islands and western Yugoslavia. T.r. subsp. nitidus (syn. T. nitidus), has narrowly ovate leaves to 1cm long, and pale lilac flowers, Sicily.
