Bushy subshrub, with ascending flowering stems to 15cm or more in length. Leaves broadly ovate to almost orbicular, up to 1.8cm long, gland-dotted, hairy or glabrous, ciliate at the base. Flowers about 8mm long, in hemispherical heads 1.5-2.5cm wide. Caucasus. In the past at least it has been confused with T. comosus.
