Botanical Description

with flowering stems to 10cm tall. Leaves oblong spathulate, 7-10mm long, ciliate in the basal half, otherwise glabrous. Floral bracts ovate, long-ciliate, 8-11mm long, usually purple. Flowers 8-12mm long, pink, in head-like spikes. Mountains of southern Spain. T. bracteosus is similar but has leaves 1-1.7cm long, bracts to 1.3cm long, green or purple-tipped and flowers purple 6-8mm long.
